When Victor Hugo wrote ‘Notre Dame de Paris’ in 1831, he claimed that the printing press, then
400 years old, was the most extraordinary invention ever produced. Despite the advances in communication and the emergence of electronic media, the book still exists as a critical cultural artefact3 Deep Publishing is committed to the culture of Art & Design in print.
Publishing has, since this invention, enabled the exchange of ideas, and the book form allows them to be easily disseminated, collected, shared, held and revisited. This is largely due to its physicality and its capacity to be distributed.

The book is an aesthetic object;
it is not only the content that is
of importance, but the form and
the physical expression of the ideas contained within. The reading of a book, the holding of a title in one’s hands creates a certain intimacy; there is a tactility in the turning of the pages, a romance and a sense of longing usually associated with notions of permanence and longevity. 3 Deep Publishing operate in this space, crafting form and content.
The 3 Deep Publishing program presents titles that are design driven and focused on the presentation of inspiring and engaging local and international artists and designers while our distribution activities foster critical dialogue and cultural exchange through the representation of a number of international publishers.
